It’s crazy but the toys and gaming consoles these days are 100 times the price of my toys when I was still a young boy, but I couldn’t blame my son for asking me to buy him a Nintendo Wii for his birthday. All his friends already had a Wii and he had to go from one friend to another just to play. I didn’t want to deprive him of the pleasures of life. He was a very nice son, a very good student, and a very nice brother to his siblings. I thought buying him what he wanted for his birthday was not too much, so I promised him a Nintendo Wii, provided he had an A+ grade. I didn’t take it seriously though, thinking he wouldn’t get an A+. Yes, he gets As but an A+ is much harder.

Maybe I underestimated my son, because just a week before his birthday, he came home with his class card, and you know what, there was no other mark except A+. As a father, I was very happy and proud of my son, but as a person who was unsure if he could fulfill his promise, I was a bit sad.

I had a week left to buy the Nintendo Wii, but still had no money to do it. I called my credit card company if my limit was enough for a Wii; unfortunately, it wasn’t. I asked a friend if she could lend me some money but she couldn’t. Maybe these companies could help me. I submitted my applications but they were denied. Oh my God! Where in this world could I get a free Nintendo Wii?
